FAQs

"How do I change the units for each of the calculations?"

You can change the units for the calculation by changing the application Settings. As recommended by Apple, the settings for iE6B are located in the standard Settings application itself, as a page toward the bottom of the main screen.

The settings for the iE6B are broken into two categories: Units and Value limits. The Units section of the iE6B settings allow you to change the values for speed, distance, and volume.

The Speed units are used when entering wind speeds, airspeeds, or groundspeeds, and can be in Knots, Status Miles per Hour, or in Kilometers per Hour.

The Distance units can be changed between Nautical Miles, Statue Miles, or Metric units, which vary between Meters and Kilometers, depending on the actual value.

The Volume units are used for fuel calculations, and can either be in US Gallons, or Liters.

"The input range is too limited. I need to select values greater than 200 Knots, 100 gallons, etc.."

Just as in changing the units, the Input value ranges can be set from the Settings application. Changing the maximum Airspeed, for instance, changes the range of all the sliders, such that any airspeed between 0 and the new Maximum can be selected by sliding the slider.

"The input sliders are too sensitive/not accurate enough. I want to manually enter numbers."

"The heading/course wheel is too sensitive."

These items will be addressed in the next version, which is current in development. This will be delivered as a free update when it becomes available. Stay tuned for more information!
